While 2020 has been a year that, I am sure, many would like to forget it doesn’t seem, at this point in time at least, as though 2021 is going to be very different as the pandemic continues to raise its ugly head in different global hotspots with horrible regularity.

For business leaders, while Covid continues to throw massive curve balls in every direction, in New Zealand we seem (again, at this point in time) to be sensing a glint of hope on the horizon as businesses and organisations take huge steps to rebuild and rethink their futures.

This issue we have delved into different ideas and thinking that may be worth considering as your organisation plans for this uncertain future. While technology, in all its power and glory, will help drive businesses forward, including AI and cognitive automation (page 12), rethinking the way we think about work and productivity and understanding the resilience and value that your employees can create and foster will help us all recover and emerge out the other side (page 8).

So, you need to make sure you are looking after them as much as you possibly can, as we discuss on pages 10 and 16.

We hope you find this, our third issue as a quarterly publication, useful and… see you in 2021.
