The real test of any chief executive’s ability to make tough decisions is how he or she handles the interpersonal stuff. At least that’s what 10 of New Zealand’s top business leaders said when we asked them about the toughest decisions they have had to make in their careers.

Visions can inspire and motivate, provide a compass bearing to steer by and a context in which to make life’s numerous daily decisions. But could four million Kiwis get in behind a unified vision for New Zealand’s future? And what do 400 managers think our vision should be?
