An international exam for IT security professionals becomes available in New Zealand from this month.
Paul Macpherson, KPMG consultant specialising in IS security risk advice, says the exam is new benchmark for security professionals.
“The Certified Information Systems Security Professional, or CISSP qualification is the one New Zealand’s recruitment consultants will be asking for,” he predicts.
Traditionally, New Zealand-based IS security people seeking this accreditation travel to Honolulu to sit the exam. This changes this month when KPMG hosts the exam in its Wellington office.
The examination covers areas such as access control systems, cryptography, business continuity and disaster recovery planning, physical security and security management practices.
