Online accounting software company Xero has appointed Amanda Armstrong as New Zealand general manager. Most recently consulting to Lexis Nexis, Armstrong has in-depth accounting industry experience having spent over 20 years at CCH, departing in 2011 as director of software sales for Australia and New Zealand.

A major top-level management change at Whybin\TBWA New Zealand sees the appointments of Todd McLeay as chief executive officer and Toby Talbot as chief creative officer. McLeay was most recently chief operating officer of APN New Zealand. Talbot, multi-award winning creative director returns to Auckland from Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe Y&R in London, where he was executive creative director.

Fonterra Co-operative has commenced an international search to replace chief financial officer Jonathan Mason, who has announced his intention to retire in the next six months. Mason joined Fonterra in the midst of the global financial crisis in 2009 and has ensured the co-operative’s financial position was strengthened through those difficult times. He also played leading role in the launch of Trading Among Farmers.

Jennifer Evans, an experienced banker with extensive international experience in risk management, treasury and operations, will join ANZ’s Australian leadership team as chief risk officer Australia in April. She has been chief risk officer New Zealand since 2000, with responsibility for wholesale and retail credit risk, market, operating and compliance risk.

Telecom has two new general managers to help lead its retail business. Grant McBeath who joins as general manager sales, has most recently led large team based in Thailand as managing director Thailand and Emerging Asia at Nokia. Kellie Nathan has been appointed as general manager brand, communications and digital. She returns to Telecom having first worked for the company in 2005, but was more recently head of Yellow Pages’ business transformation team.

National law firm Kensington Swan has announced several senior appointments including the promotion of Michael O’Brien (pictured), senior associate for the past four years, to partner in the Auckland employment team and the appointment of Tyrone Cooley as special counsel in the Auckland litigation team.

The Museum of Transport and Technology has appointed Michael Frawley as its chief executive officer. Formerly managing partner of the international law firm Taylor Wessing in the UK, Frawley has extensive corporate experience.

Not for profit Kilmarnock Enterprises has announced the appointment of its new CEO, Michelle Sharp. She succeeds Rosemary Carr who has announced her retirement after 36 years of service to the company. Sharp was most recently Kilmarnock’s business development manager.

Gail Costa, chief executive officer of Cigna New Zealand, has been appointed to new CEO role with Cigna International where she will be responsible for overall management of developed and developing markets including Hong Kong, Taiwan, New Zealand, UK and Turkey.

NIWA, the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research. has appointed new CFO. He is Michael Parrott whose recent roles include head of trading risk management at Westpac Institutional Bank, CFO at Tower Investments and, most recently, senior commercial manager at Tower.
