Clare Ward, currently deputy government statistician at Statistics New Zealand, has been appointed to the position of chief executive of the Families Commission and will take up her new position mid-June.

Bruce Macintyre is the new chief risk officer of ANZ New Zealand, replacing Jennifer Evans, who is now chief risk officer for ANZ Australia. Macintyre’s banking career spans nearly three decades with ANZ and the National Bank, including number of senior roles, most recently as ANZ’s head of Wholesale Risk New Zealand.

Duncan Cotterill Lawyers has appointed new chief executive. He is Terry McLaughlin, chief executive of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants for the past five years, and prior to that executive director of Audit New Zealand.

Australasian engineering and design company Harrison Grierson has appointed Ioannis Prionas as team leader of structural engineering. senior structural design engineer, Prionas has more than 17 years’ experience designing and managing the structural engineering aspects of wide range of civil engineering and construction projects – including three Olympic Stadiums in Athens.

Heritage Hotel Management has appointed Scott Rees as marketing manager. He was most recently marketing portfolio manager for State Insurance at IAG New Zealand and has also held marketing manager roles at Massey University and BTI New Zealand.
Also new at Heritage Hotel Management is Donna Stewart, who has taken over as general manager of Heritage Queenstown after seven-year stint as general manager of Peppers Beacon Queenstown.

Communications agency Ideas Shop is supporting its continued growth with the promotion of senior consultant Sam Halstead to the position of associate partner. Halstead started with Ideas Shop in 2009, having previously worked as journalist in New Zealand and as public relations consultant in the United Kingdom.

David Baker has joined Oyster Management as national facilities manager for the company’s portfolio of commercial buildings throughout New Zealand. Baker previously held senior facilities management role with global real estate services company, CBRE.

Wellington public relations consultancy Accentuate+ Public Relations has announced that Dr Chris Galloway has joined the firm as an academic associate. Galloway, who has recently taken up the role of senior lecturer in public relations at Massey University’s Albany campus, will be available to provide strategic advice to Accentuate’s clients.

Hamish Carter has been appointed GM corporate partnerships and sponsorship with the Sir Peter Blake Trust. Tanya Abbott, long-serving employee of L’Oréal New Zealand who has worked across all divisions of the company, has been promoted from communications manager to the new role of group corporate communications manager.

The new head of distribution at Fidelity Life is Peter Mensah. Mensah has been with the company for nine years and was promoted from corporate marketing manager where he was overseeing the development and marketing of risk products.
