I recently had couple of nights in Wellington on business, staying at the Wellesley Boutique Hotel. Converted from what was the Wellesley Club it still has the clubby, comfortable and welcoming atmosphere of yesteryear – but with the modern conveniences of wifi and an award-winning restaurant and chef. The staff are friendly and accommodating; there’s lounge and bar area perfect for informal meetings; and the room was an unexpected delight – roomy and pleasant with bathroom big enough to party in. Located in the heart of the commercial/legal district, it’s just stone’s throw from Parliament and five minutes walk from the restaurants and bars on Queen’s Wharf.
