InTouch : New Zealander appointed Secretary-General of ISO

The Geneva-based International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has announced the appointment of New Zealander Rob Steele as its next secretary-general.
Steele was the chief executive of Standards New Zealand for eight years from June 1999 to May 2007. He will take up his new role on January 1.
“This is major recognition of Rob Steele’s skills and dedication to international standardisation. It is yet another significant achievement for our country to have New Zealander in such an important position,” said Richard Westlake, chair of the board of Standards New Zealand.
