Intelligent software from clever New Zealand company is to be used in large-scale state government project in Australia.
SPM Applications, in partnership with the global software vendor Northgate Information Solutions, has just landed contract with the New South Wales Land and Housing Corporation, the largest social housing provider in the southern hemisphere managing nearly 140,000 properties.
The Corporation plans to upgrade its core housing system with Northgate software, and an intelligent asset information solution provided by SPM will work alongside this software to assist in planning, asset management and maintenance.
The project is one of the largest won to date by SPM, worth around $825,000 over the next five years.
Steve Lyons, SPM managing director, says the contract is another notch in the company’s fast-growing Australasian expansion plans. “For the first time, global software vendor has chosen our software to support its bid to major state government department. It’s significant to us because it increases our exposure to large Australian government organisations and should lead on to other work for SPM,” says Lyons.
SPM has completed asset and project planning projects for wide range of local authorities, central government agencies and housing organisations in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom.
SPM is six-year-old New Zealand owned company, based on Auckland’s North Shore and is expanding in Australia, recently setting up serviced offices in Sydney and Melbourne. The business’ purpose is to simplify asset management for its customers by providing both software and advisory services.
