Nelson businessman Palmer, recently appointed as director on the board of Solid Energy New Zealand, is to take over as chair on the retirement of Tim Saunders at the end of this month. Palmer is widely regarded and respected as one of New Zealand’s leading governance practitioners.

Gordon Fulton
Ernst & Young has appointed Fulton as chairman of its board, replacing outgoing chairman Michael Stanley. member of the board for the past three years, and partner and professional practice director of the Assurance Practice for the company, Fulton has been with Ernst & Young, internationally and in New Zealand, for more than 30 years.

Stuart Smith, George Fistonich
New Zealand Winegrowers, the national organisation representing the country’s 1300 grape growers and winemakers, has elected Smith as chair and Fistonich as deputy chair. Smith is Marlborough grape grower and proprietor of boutique Marlborough winery Fairhall Downs. He succeeds Brian Vieceli, who stepped down from the role in August. Fistonich, based in Auckland, is well-known figure in the New Zealand wine industry and is proprietor of Villa Maria Estate.

Nick Lewis
Celsias, the world’s first online community for households and businesses to be paid for reducing the carbon emissions from their everyday energy usage, has appointed Lewis as its chief executive officer. CEO of Wellington company Energy Intellect since 2004 when he and his family immigrated to New Zealand, past roles for Lewis include time as New York investment banker at JP Morgan and group head of the Power and Utility Investment Banking Team at CIBC World Markets.

Warwick Beban
Konica Minolta, subsidiary of the Onesource office technology group, has appointed Beban as national manager, strategic accounts, new position created to reflect the specific demands of the company’s largest customers. Beban, most recently head of corporate and business for Telecom Mobile, will also assume responsibility for the company’s southern branches.

Megan Douglas
Hamilton-based farmer co-operative LIC has appointed Douglas as general manager human resources. Most recently change and projects manager for Fonterra, she also held various HR roles with the dairy cooperative.

Paul McDowell-Hook
McDowell-Hook has joined the senior management team at Microsoft New Zealand as finance director. He has held previous national and international roles in finance, business development, and strategic planning and was most recently member of the leadership team at Gen-i.

Evan Lawrey, Wendy Rayner
Two new executive appointments have been made at NZ Lotteries: Lawrey, previously head of marketing has been promoted to general manager – interactive. Rayner steps up to the head of marketing role. She previously led the lottery games marketing team.

Katherine Hall
In her new role as development manager NZ & UK for Auckland-based Frog Recruitment, Hall will focus on attracting candidates from that country to New Zealand. She will also be responsible for client brand strategy and integrated recruitment campaigns.

Sarosh Dubash
A new appointment at Christchurch-based ARM technology specialist Bluewater Systems. Dubash, previously business development and product manager for Navman, is to head the company’s sales and business development department.

David O’Connell, Shaun Riley
Geneva Finance has announced two senior management appointments, O’Connell as the company’s group chief financial officer, and Riley as general manager.
