New chair for Deloitte
Ross Milne has been appointed as new chairman at professional services firm Deloitte NZ. senior tax partner based in the company’s Auckland office, Milne has been with Deloitte for 16 years and has particular expertise advising clients in the manufacturing, retail distribution and property sectors. He has also led the firm’s mid-market practice for the past four years.
Milne says he is honoured to take on the challenge of the chairman’s role.
“I’ll be focused on working with my fellow board members and partners as we look to continue building on the success Deloitte has enjoyed in New Zealand for number of years.”
In his new role, he’ll be chairing the Deloitte Board of Partners (of which he’s been member for seven years) and be responsible for the governance of the firm. He replaces Nick Main who stepped down as chair last month to take on London-based secondment as global managing partner of climate change and sustainability services.

Jonathan Mane-Wheoki
Head of Elam School of Fine Arts at The University of Auckland, Professor Mane-Wheoki, has been appointed to the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra board of trustees.

Mark Thomas
Senate Communications has appointed Thomas as partner in its Auckland office. He has 15 years experience in senior management and executive positions, including previous roles as head of group marketing and corporate affairs at the ANZ Bank, and as an executive within the generation and retail electricity sectors.

Bryan Crawford
The CAANZ executive board has elected Crawford, DraftFCB’s group ceo, for two-year term as president of CAANZ. He replaces Dave Walden who, as immediate past-president, now becomes vice-president. The board also elected Y&R ceo Jon Ramage as vice-president.

Tanya Dustin
Privately owned specialist corporate travel management company Gilpin Travel has appointed Dustin as sales manager. She was most recently with The Duxton Hotel as director of sales Auckland and Okawa Bay.

Raewyn Lovett
Currently chairman of Netball New Zealand, Lovett has been appointed the new chairman of the transTasman ANZ Netball Championship for the next two years. partner at Duncan Cotterill, Lovett specialises in commercial, corporate and employment law and is member of the firm’s board.

Peter Biggs
Former managing director at Clemenger Wellington (and former chairman of Creative NZ), now managing director at Clemenger Melbourne, Biggs been appointed chairman of the NZ Book Council.
