Finalists and winners of the awards are selected from NZ Management magazine’s annual listing of New Zealand’s 200 largest corporations based on revenue. There is also separate listing of the Top 30 financial enterprises based on asset value. The lists comprise publicly listed and unlisted companies, New Zealand subsidiaries and branches of overseas companies, co-operatives, societies, producer boards, local trading enterprises and state owned enterprises, plus private companies prepared to supply audited accounts. Three finalists are chosen for series of awards for companies, executives and chairpersons. The finalists and winners are arrived at through thorough and comprehensive judging process. significant list of contenders is identified and analysed at the initial stage and further information sought when needed. These are then whittled down to series of lists for each award category. Further research and analysis is undertaking on these before the judges meet for final time and reduce the lists further and then decide on the three finalists and ultimate winner. The judges are well recognised and respected figures in the business community and are selected for their expertise in particular award categories.
