UPFRONT Pa’s role at home?

While in New Zealand mothers are being exhorted to return to work, across the Tasman there’s been call for measures that make it easier for fathers to stay home and care for their children.
Australia’s federal sex discrimination commissioner Pru Goward suggests that just as special measures were made available to women seeking work in certain sectors, governments perhaps have to consider measures enabling men to enter the unpaid workforce.
She pointed out that number of Scandinavian countries provide paid paternity leave and said experiences in those countries should be part of new inquiry into work/life balance issues for both sexes.
