UpFRONT Two winning women

Shellie May, operations manager of Christchurch medical supplies distributor MedXus, is the lucky winner of Harrier mobile desktop PDA that was up for grabs in April’s joint Management/Telecom technology competition.
“I am not mobile worker,” said very happy Shellie when she heard about her win, “but I’m sure the PDA will help me in the organisation of the various jobs I need to do on day-to-day basis. Can it clean my desk?” she asked.
No, but we are pretty sure it will give her the extra time she needs to spend on that little manual exercise.
Shellie’s company, which sells patient monitoring systems, defibrillators, lifecare equipment, training solutions and “various other items”, will no doubt be looking for dramatic rise in its business pulse when Shellie’s gift gets working for her.
And Maia Whaitiri, receptionist at Avondale-based New Zealand medical supplies company, USL Medical, will take delivery of the iPod Photo she won in our joint Management/Cogent business communications specialist, competition.
Maia has been accepted for an internship programme with her company and will be moving to New York in September. “I’ll be without my family at Christmas,” she says “but I’ll now be able to listen to my favourite group – Cold Play.”
