Trade Me CEO Anders Skoe has announced he will step down at the end of September. He will be replaced by Kul Singh Kargil (pictured), previously Real Estate Australia Group’s chief commercial and marketing officer.

Trade Me chair Owen Wilson says in a statement that after seven years with the organisation Skoe has decided that the time is right to leave Trade Me and return to Europe.

Wilson says that during his tenure, Skoe successfully led Trade Me through a period of significant strategic evolution, strengthening the platform’s core offerings across New Zealand’s digital landscape.

“On behalf of the Board, I want to extend our deepest gratitude to Anders for his outstanding leadership and dedication over the years. He leaves Trade Me in a strong position for future success,” says Wilson.

While Skoe says the decision to step down from Trade Me wasn’t an easy one, he says he leaves the company in good hands.

“It has been a privilege to lead Trade Me and work alongside such a talented and passionate team.”

Skoe says he’s proud of everything the team accomplished together to serve its customers and community, noting Trade Me is in a strong position and that he’s delighted to hand the baton to Kul Singh Kargil.

Wilson says Kargil is an exceptional leader with the qualities needed to guide the company through its next period of growth.

“Kul brings a wealth of executive experience, deep operational expertise, and a proven track record delivering business growth. The board is confident that his vision and customer-centric approach make him the ideal person to lead the company.”

As chief commercial and marketing officer at REA Group, Kargil was responsible for the company’s commercial divisions as well as audience, brand, customer experience and marketing.

Prior to his time at REA, he held senior leadership positions across strategy, marketing, sales, and brand within financial services at GE Capital and the healthcare sector at GlaxoSmithKline.

Kargil says he’s excited to be returning to New Zealand.

Trade Me has been part of the fabric of Aotearoa for more than two decades and I feel incredibly privileged to be given the opportunity to lead this incredible business into its next era,” he says.
