Overland Footwear winner in the IBM Best Workplaces 2017

IBM has awarded Overland Footwear the title of New Zealand’s Overall Best Workplace of 2017, the third time the company has received the title in the awards’ 18 years.

Overland Footwear, a well known and trusted footwear retailer with branches throughout New Zealand, beat 42 other finalists to receive the top award in New Zealand’s longest running and largest measure of employee engagement.

The awards are based on employee perceptions of their workplace in a confidential survey across key metrics including leadership, culture, recognition and engagement. Overland Footwear won the Best Large Workplace category for 400-749 employees and also received a 10-year acknowledgement in the Best Workplaces League Awards.

Emma Martin, senior consultant, IBM New Zealand, says in a media release that earning the title of New Zealand’s Best Workplace is a valuable differentiator for employers aiming to attract and retain top talent. “The IBM Best Workplaces Awards recognise excellence in employee engagement and workplace culture based on perceptions of the organisation’s own staff, people who know the culture best.”

The IBM Best Workplaces 2017 survey saw more than 35,000 employees from 173 organisations (including 27 newcomers) surveyed, making it the largest study of its kind in New Zealand.
