Women executives who break through the glass ceiling could end up on the edge of glass cliff – after being given hospital pass to poor performing company.
The “glass cliff” phenomenon was highlighted recently by Women’s Affairs Minister Lianne Dalziel who told group of senior women business leaders that the term emerged from UK study showing that women were more likely to be appointed to boards at time when the position could be considered higher risk. Is it that women are perceived as being better in crisis or seen as having less to lose?
