IN TOUCH: Best business OE

More than 70 companies from around the country have qualified for the second stage of the New Zealand International Business Awards.
That puts them one step closer to being awarded the Judges’ Supreme Award of $100,000 to fund further international growth, according to New Zealand Trade & Enterprise CEO Tim Gibson. He says there has been keen interest in this year’s awards, which will recognise the best business operating internationally in three categories: under $10 million, $10 to $50 million and over $50 million.
“We have been delighted with both the high number of entries and the excellent standard of the submissions received across all award categories,” says Gibson.
“The New Zealand International Business Awards are about recognising the strength of New Zealand businesses that are operating internationally. Looking at the quality of this year’s entries, our judging panel will have hard job narrowing the field down to determine the finalists and winners.”
Finalists will be announced mid-August and the winners will be celebrated at an awards ceremony on 30 September 2009.
