Mary Devine
No-one is saying it has been “Ezi” but Mary Devine has landed the top-shelf job of CEO at multimillion-dollar fashion clothing and home décor catalogue company EziBuy.
The company is one of only handful of New Zealand companies to integrate successfully into the Australian retail market. Talking about her new role, Devine said one of her top priorities would be to manage the company’s global growth strategy.
Devine had been chief executive officer of bedware and outdoor company Arthur Ellis since April 2003 when the company bought out her company Survival Apparel. Before that she held number of management positions at LWR Industries and worked as an investment and business analyst.
Alan Thompson
Thompson is the new chief executive of the Ministry of Transport, and Secretary for Transport. His previous roles include 16 years as chief executive in public sector agencies, most recently with the Auckland Regional Transport Authority.
Diane Humphries
Humphries, most recently retail merchandising director for Glassons, is now the clothing company’s managing director. Her 19 years’ experience in the clothing industry includes senior positions with Pumpkin Patch and Ezibuy.
Callum Holmes
Holmes has been appointed general manager, southern region for IT and business consulting services company Simpl. He was previously principal management consultant for Synergy, and is former vice president of the Institute of Management Consultants NZ.
Jerome Kerrigan
Kerrigan has replaced Thomas Zengerly as chief executive of New Zealand Refining. Kerrigan has been involved in the oil industry for the past 30 years and has been with NZ Refining for 20 years in operational and commercial roles.
Tony Coombe
Turners Auctions has appointed Coombe as group general manager, financial services and deputy CEO. An employee since 1994, Coombe was previously chief financial officer and company secretary.
Edward McKee Wright
McKee Wright has been appointed to run Capital+Merchant Business Finance, newly established provider of working capital funding. He has extensive experience in the factoring and the trade finance sector having set up factoring operations for Scottish Pacific, SH Lock, and Orix.
Roger Moses, John Henderson
Moses (left), director of NZ Castle Resorts & Hotels for several years, has now been appointed chairman. He is director of several other companies, including the PREVU Corporation and Nathan Finance. Henderson is the company’s new managing director. Prior to taking up this role he was an independent director for CDL Hotels. He has also been director for Kingsgate International Corporation and CDL Investments.
Peter Scott
Scott is the new operations manager at Kumfs Shoes New Zealand with responsibility for warehouse, distribution and customer service functions. He was previously employed at textile importer and distributor Charles Parsons New Zealand.
David Walden
The Communications Agencies Association (CAANZ) has elected Walden, CEO of TBWA\Whybin, as its new president. He replaces outgoing president, Andrew Stone, CEO of Saatchi and Saatchi.
Bill Luff
Luff has been appointed to the board of Syft Technologies, replacing retiring director Wally Stone. director of number of companies including Network Tasman and the Lyttelton Port Company, Luff has held senior management positions at BP Group companies in New Zealand and overseas. He was CEO at Tasman Energy from 1997-1999 and currently works as business consultant.
