Belief Grows in Climate Change

New Zealanders are well past the point of questioning whether or not climate change is occurring and say it is something which must be managed as priority. survey of 3296 respondents to the Business Council’s online ShapeNZ public survey panel, conducted between 27 August 2006 and 20 March 2007, shows only 6 percent believe climate change, due to the greenhouse effect, is not really problem at all. Only 14 percent say it is problem for the future. Seventy seven percent say it is problem now (37 percent) or an urgent and immediate problem (40 percent). (Panel results are weighted by age, gender, ethnicity, personal income, employment status and personal party vote at the 2005 general election. They are accurate to within + or – 2 percent.)
