Bookcase : Where have all the leaders gone?

• Lee Iacocca, with Catherine Whitney • Harper Collins • $44.99

Self-confessed flunkeed retiree Lee Iacocca is back to shout his views at us. It is delivery method which has served him well if you consider the success he had saving Chrysler Corporation from financial ruin.
In this tome, he offers his views on likely 2008 US presidential candidates and takes us on name-dropping (but wouldn’t we all if we had names like that to drop?) tour of conversations and encounters with Bill Clinton, Fidel Castro and Warren Buffett to name but few.
The premise of the book is to shock American citizens back to their roots of hard work and optimism.
Not my type of inspiration – but then, I’m not American. And he certainly does have big stories to tell.
