As general manager of Information Services Sharon Paine has developed and led significant shift in focus and culture of the group, from an internally focused and disparate group to an externally focused, customer service oriented team. These changes have come about through very clear direction setting, and understanding and being focused on what’s important for customers. Paine manages budget of $20 million for the Information Services group, with line management responsibility for 100 staff.
Paine comes from background of finance management working with ANZ Banking Group, Inland Revenue and National Mutual, before joining the Department of Social Welfare in 1998. This background has provided her with number of change management opportunities and responsibilities; from managing organisation design, costing and strategic vision of restructuring while keeping functional management and delivery of service.
