HP redefines colour printing

Hewlett-Packard has been busy inventing again – launching not only new Colour LaserJet range, but also five new Business Inkjets. New ‘In-line technology’ is behind the speed (16ppm) and quality of the Colour LaserJet 4600 printers. It uses four front-loading print cartridges stacked one on top of the other, to deliver colour to several types of media in single pass.

That makes it four times faster than its predecessor. “The 4600 prints just as fast in colour as it does in black and white,” explains Elizabeth Hall, HP’s market development manager. “So job that would previously have taken 30 minutes now takes only 10.”

Meanwhile HP’s new Business Inkjet series, comprising the 2230, 2280, 2280tn, 2600 and 2600dn, offers cost per page of just over 23 cents for colour, as well as increased networking capabilities and an embedded web server, which allows businesses to manage their devices remotely. Inkjet colour printing is the choice of an increasing number of businesses. HP reports that more than 80 percent of its business inkjets are networked and shared by up to 10 people.
