Rodger Shepherd
Fairfax Media has appointed Shepherd, formerly chief executive officer of PMP NZ, to the newly created position of group head of publishing of Fairfax Media’s newspaper and magazine businesses. Prior to joining PMP Shepherd spent more than 11 years with various Fletcher business units.

John Stribrny
Manukau Institute of Technology has appointed Stribrny as its new chief financial officer. Most recently Waitemata District Health Board’s business manager, he has also worked as the financial controller for Foodstuffs, as CFO at Union Shipping and in various financial roles at other commercial enterprises.

Sean Kemball
OSS (Open Systems Specialists) has appointed Kemball as services manager to the organisation with responsibility for the delivery of consulting, systems management and support services. He comes to OSS from Air NZ where he was network and web operations manager.

Lara Blomfield
A senior environmental lawyer, Blomfield has joined Simon Berry’s chambers as an associate. She was previously with Simpson Grierson as senior associate in the environment and local government team.

Rick O’Connor, Chris Powell
Advanced audio technology company Phitek Systems has made two senior appointments. O’Connor, who has 23 years of industry experience, takes on the role of vice president of sales and marketing; while Powell has been named group financial controller following career with several leading New Zealand and multinational companies, including 14 years with Du Pont (NZ).

Meech Aspden
Philips NZ has appointed Aspden as its new CEO and vice president of Pacific Cluster Consumer Electronics, overseeing the regions of New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. She was most recently the company’s general manager of health and wellness in Hong Kong.

David Cattell, Peter Reidy, Cos Bruyn
Downer EDI Works has announced leadership changes within the group. Cattell, previously CEO of New Zealand and Australia, has now become CEO of New Zealand, Australia, Asia and the United Kingdom. Formerly chief operating officer, Reidy has been appointed CEO of the global consulting services group. Bruyn, having returned to New Zealand after 12 months in Australia as executive general manager NSW/Queensland, takes over from Reidy as chief operating officer.

Felicity Lamm
Keynote speaker, published author and research leader in occupational health and safety, employment relations and the small business sector, Lamm has been named as associate professor of employment relations in the business faculty at AUT University. She has also been appointed as chair of the post-graduate committee and PhD coordinator for the department of management and employment relations.

Geoff Beynon, Prakash Kuttikatt, Janice Willemsen
SAS has made three executive appointments. Beynon as country manager of New Zealand; Willemsen, in the newly created position as director of alliances and channels for Australia and New Zealand, and Kuttikatt as general manager of customer intelligence and retail for Australia and New Zealand.

Zac Qereqeretabua
Qereqeretabua has joined Wright Communications from Sweeney Vesty. An experienced communications consultant and writer, he has worked for Greenpeace Australia and the Auckland Regional Council.

Peter Promnitz, Tim Jenkins, Bernie O’Brien
Mercer has promoted Promnitz, its chief executive for Australia and New Zealand since 2004, to region head for Asia Pacific. Jenkins, currently head of Mercer New Zealand and head of retirement for Australia and New Zealand, will replace Promnitz as the Asia Pacific retirement leader. O’Brien has been named as Jenkin’s replacement and will also perform the role of Mercer’s outsourcing business leader for New Zealand.
