Newly elected chair of the NZ Business Council for Sustainable Development, Bob Field is encouraging local business to regard an investment in sustainability not as cost but as key opportunity.
He says preserving the unique Kiwi quality of life can also be achieved in parallel to this business objective. That is reflected in the Council’s recent research on how the country can solve its fresh water allocation problems, improve the performance of million poorly insulated homes and put price on other activities affecting the environment – such as greenhouse gas emissions and solid waste going to landfills.
Field, who is chair of Toyota NZ, replaces Deloitte’s Nick Main as NZBCSD chair.
