US-based enterprise software company JD Edwards has appointed Richard Mathews as senior vice president international. The promotion comes year after his appointment as managing director of JD Edwards Australia/New Zealand and the integration of JD Edwards Australia/New Zealand with JD Edwards worldwide.
The new role takes Mathews from Auckland to London, where he will be responsible for overseeing company operations for all countries outside of the American continent, including the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, Japan, Asia Pacific, and Australia/New Zealand.
Mathews was with JD Edwards in New Zealand for six years, during which time JD Edwards has become the largest ERP software vendor in New Zealand and the third largest in Australia. Revenues in 2000 for Australasia were up 170 percent on 1999 revenues.
Mathews was formerly in senior sales and financial positions with Cadbury Confectionery in New Zealand. Starting as systems accountant in 1991 he progressed to financial controller and was appointed to the board of management, responsible for finance and information services. He was appointed acting sales director, managing the company’s sales operations, in 1994.
Before Cadbury, he was business consultant at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. Educated at the University of Otago, Mathews holds bachelor degrees in commerce and science and is qualified associate chartered accountant.

New research has found that more than half the country experienced an online threat and 830,000 people experienced some financial loss. The National Cyber Security Centre’s annual survey, conducted by
