The BCI is based on views from more than 24,000 business leaders and managers across 92 countries.

The results show confidence in the NZ economy ahead of the UK (94 points), the US (107), Australia (116) and China (110).

Among other findings, the survey showed the proportion of Kiwi companies reporting revenue increases rose, from 32 percent in April 2012 to 60 percent.

And the number of companies in NZ reporting profit growth also grew, up to 44 percent from 28 percent in April 2012.
