Michael Spaans
The Katolyst Group, the trust with 100 percent ownership of the Waikato Innovation Park, has appointed Spaans, well-known, Waikato-based dairy farmer, as the new chairman of the board of Innovation Waikato (IWL). Previously an IWL director, Spaans takes over from Dr Andy West, who remains director.

Tim Powell
Global human resources consulting company Hewitt Associates has appointed Powell, who has 20 years commercial HR experience, as managing director for Australia and New Zealand. He will be based in the company’s Sydney office.

Wayne Besant
Insurer AIA New Zealand has appointed Besant as chief executive officer. Most recently managing director of ANZ Retail where he was responsible for leading and developing the company’s personal and business banking segments, Besant has 20 years of experience in the financial services sector.

Pip Greenwood
Russell McVeagh has appointed Greenwood, partner since 2001, as its board chair. Formerly head of the firm’s Auckland Corporate Advisory Group, she has previously been on the board of management. She has also served as member of the Takeovers Panel since 2006.

Sally Cannan
Sheffield has appointed Cannan as senior consultant with its organisational development team. Her career has had strong people focus, with commercial management experience at Marks and Spencer in the UK, and Westfield in New Zealand, and for the past three years she has specialised in human resources consulting.

Marcus Hawkins-Adams
Search marketing agency network iProspect has appointed Hawkins-Adams as general manager New Zealand. General manager of Brave New World in the early 2000s, Hawkins-Adams takes up his new role from his current position as managing director at Isobar Australia.

Sussan Turner, Jason Paris, Ian Audsley, Belinda Mulgrew
A new senior management team at Mediaworks. Turner, the CEO of MediaWorks Radio, has been promoted to group managing director of Mediaworks, with control of TV3, C4, 10 radio networks and the company’s VOD and online business. Mulgrew succeeds her as CEO of the company’s radio division. Paris, formerly the head of digital media and marketing at TVNZ, has been appointed as CEO of TV3 and C4. He takes over in June from Audsley, who continues as executive director, TV until June when he will become non-executive director of the company.
