Brian Roche
Currently senior partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Wellington, Roche has been appointed chief executive of the New Zealand Post Group and will take up the position at the beginning of 2010. He succeeds John Allen, who left the organisation at the end of June to become chief executive and secretary of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Kiwibank CEO Sam Knowles has been acting Group CEO in the interim.

Brian Cowper
Specialist recruitment solutions company Hudson has appointed Cowper as director, public sector, based in Wellington. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the corporate and public sectors and joins Hudson from the New Zealand Qualifications Authority where he was the acting chief executive for strategic and corporate services and quality assurance.

Liz Hickey
A member of the Securities Commission, and director of the Institute of Environmental Science & Research and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand, Hickey has joined the board of Southern Cross Healthcare Group. In that role she will be director of not-for-profit health insurer Southern Cross Medical Care Society, and trustee of the Southern Cross Health Trust which owns the Southern Cross travel insurance and hospitals businesses.

Kevin Francis, Samuel Stadler
Search marketing agency First Rate has announced new management line-up which includes the promotion of Francis, formerly chief operating officer, to chief executive officer. Stadler, the company’s Sydney-based consulting director, returns to Auckland where he steps up to the chief operating officer’s role vacated by Francis.

Russell Wright
HRV New Zealand has appointed Wright to the newly created position of chief financial officer. Past experience includes three years as CFO at Repco New Zealand and before that, CFO at Hansells New Zealand.

Dan Meiklejohn
DB Breweries has appointed Meiklejohn to the newly created position of general manager, retail based at its Waitemata Brewery site in Auckland. He joins DB from SCA Hygiene where he was head of consumer sales for New Zealand. He has also held senior sales and general manager positions for companies in the dairy industry, freight, courier and beverage businesses.

Bill Baylis, Stuart McLauchlan, Denham Shale
Recognising the desire across various stakeholders for South Canterbury Finance to enhance its governance arrangements, Baylis, McLauchlan and Shale have been appointed as independent directors. The appointments are also said to be further step forward in the restructuring of South Canterbury Finance.

Grant Rosewarne
New Zealand King Salmon has appointed Rosewarne as its next chief executive. He succeeds Paul Steere who led the company for 15 years and has left to pursue other business interests. Rosewarne has had significant international experience in Britain, Europe and Australasia and comes from Sara Lee Corporation where he was chairman of the UK and Ireland.

Murray Davis
Auckland-based Image Centre Group has appointed Davis as CEO of its print arm Image Print. He was previously CEO of large and grand format printer Omnigraphics, and before that was general manager at Val Morgan in New Zealand and Latin America.

Brett Oetgen
OMANZ (the Outdoor Media Association) has appointed Oetgen as general manager. He most recently worked as an independent consultant to advertising, media and corporate clients on strategy, leadership and organisational culture and has held senior roles at the Institute for Strategic Leadership, World Vision and Human Synergistics.
