ASX-listed private health insurer nib holdings has named Alan Clarke as chairman of Tower Medical Insurance, the business it acquired from Tower last year. Clarke is managing director and chief executive of Abano HealthCare Group in Auckland.

Natural Products New Zealand (NPNZ) has welcomed Gren Purchase to its board. Managing director of Lifestream International, natural health product manufacturer, Purchase has served on government steering committees and supported government led discussions around the Natural Health Products Bill.

Joan Withers, the chair of state-owned power company Mighty River Power, is to join the board of ANZ New Zealand from the start of July. Her appointment will come after the sell-down of the Government’s stake in Mighty River Power. Withers will join former Foodstuffs boss Tony Carter and Norman Geary as independent directors on the board. As well as being chair of Mighty River Power, Withers heads the board at Auckland International Airport and is deputy chair of Television New Zealand.
