Karim Temsamani
Sydney-based Temsamani will manage Google’s domestic business and strategic partnerships as the newly appointed general manager for Google Australia and New Zealand. He joins from Fairfax Media (Australia), where he was most recently group director, Fairfax general magazines and commercial director for newspapers.

Andrew Green
Goughs has promoted Green, general manager for its Caterpillar division for the past 10 years, to chief executive officer – equipment group, with responsibility for the Caterpillar Business Unit, Goughs Forklifts, Goughs Engineering and The Cat Rental Store.

Paul Ravlich
Following Gottfried Pausch’s resignation, Ravlich has been appointed managing director for Siemens New Zealand. He was previously the company’s general manager New Zealand business operations, and prior to this was managing director for Bosch Siemens Home Appliances (BSH).

Bruce Costain
Brookfields Lawyers has appointed Costain as senior associate. He has 10 years’ experience in commercial, and banking law and as well as his LLB has BCom with first class honours.

Andrew Gair
Graphic design company Dashwood Design has appointed Gair as its new managing director. Previously general manager of the design studio at Communication Arts, his background also includes 16 years’ international experience.

In addition to the recently announced appointments of Julia Stones, Angela Vale, Roslyn Bourke and Stuart Almao to Sheffield’s recruitment solutions team, the company has also added to its organisation development practice appointing Eager, registered psychologist, in its Wellington office and Wilson as consultant in the Auckland office. McNamara joins as researcher in the search team, and Rogers adds capability to the executive leasing practice.

Fifteen years’ information technology experience and 10-year tenure at Microsoft places Ackhurst in good stead for his new role leading the Microsoft New Zealand team as the company’s country manager. His previous position with Microsoft was worldwide general manager, operations and business strategy for public sector.

Wayne Brown
With effect from 1 November 2007, Brown has been appointed as chair of Transpower New Zealand for three-year period. Deputy chair since August 2006, Brown is also chair of state-owned Kordia Group. He succeeds outgoing chair David Gascoigne.

Health software company Healthphone Solutions has appointed Cullimore to its board of directors. Chairman of Orbis Global and director of the NZ Innovation Fund, Cullimore has many years of executive management experience in the global health technology industry and in public software companies.

Currently director of investment company Salvus Strategic Investments and Asset Management based in Auckland, Couch has been appointed to the board of Syft Technologies.

Opus International Consultants has appointed McDonald as deputy chairman of its board in recognition of his wide experience in public listed companies both in Australia and New Zealand. Thompson, the incumbent Opus chief executive, has been appointed to the board as managing director.
