Jens Madsen
Chief operating officer of Ports of Auckland since February 2006, Madsen brings extensive knowledge of the international shipping and logistics industry to his new role as the company’s chief executive-designate. His appointment follows the announcement last November that present CEO and managing director Geoff Vazey, will retire on 31 August.
Kevin Bowler
Currently general manager consumer marketing at Telecom New Zealand, Bowler will lead the growth of Yahoo!Xtra – launched in March this year – when he takes on the role of chief executive officer in July.
Peter Conway
Currently economist and director of policy with the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions, Conway has been appointed as director on the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise board.
Nancy Lam
Following the global acquisition by Bayer AG of Schering AG late last year, Lam, formerly head of Schering in Hong Kong, has been appointed country division head of the new Bayer Schering Pharma business in New Zealand.
Mike Henderson
Furniture and bedding franchise system Furniture Court has appointed Henderson as its new chief executive. recent past chairman of the Franchise Association New Zealand (FANZ), he joins the company from Paper Plus Group where he was group controller operations.
Mark Ford
The Auckland Regional Transport Authority has appointed Ford, CEO of Watercare Services, as its new chair. He replaces Brian Roche, who was appointed by the Government as founding chair to oversee ARTA’s establishment in 2004.
John Gibson, Eli McCowatt
Hirepool has two new business relationship managers: Gibson, who has more than 26 years’ hire equipment industry experience, and McCowatt who has spent more than half his life in the industry.

Adecco Personnel has made two new senior appointments: Prendergast, previously area manager, South Auckland, has been promoted to national account manager, based in Auckland; and Gorman is now the company’s national manager, corporate clients, based in Christchurch. Most recently managing director of Bluebird Foods, Divehall, an experienced marketer, has taken the reins as managing partner at Publicis Mojo’s connections company Zenith Optimedia where he will work with general manager Sharon Cookson.

Two new directors join the Grant Thornton Auckland team – Sparrow, chartered accountant, in the business advisory services division and Davis, with 10 years’ investment banking experience, in the corporate finance division.
Peter Kennedy
Effective June, Kennedy replaces Wade Armstrong as New Zealand’s next ambassador to the European Union and Belgium. Previously Prime Ministerial foreign affairs adviser, he is currently director of Europe division in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Staples Rodway has promoted Raniga, previously manager in the company’s audit and assurance services division, to the position of director, and Glass to the position of associate director.
