ORGANISATION STATEMENT
AUT Faculty of Business is one of the largest business schools in New Zealand. Our aim is to educate professionals for business practice.
We offer range of courses from the Bachelor of Business to the Master of Business and PhD, with supporting diplomas, certificates and variety of short courses. Our classes are small, usually 20-30 students. Small classes provide an interactive learning environment with emphasis on the integration of theory and business practice.
Classes are offered between 8.00am and 8.00pm to fit around your work commitments. Academic staff have up-to-date, relevant knowledge of business. We have close links with industry through advisory committees who work with the faculty in maintaining the relevance of our qualifications.
We provide opportunities for students to network with successful business professionals through the “Breakfast Club” and co-operative education. At AUT we believe your success is our success – together!

Master of Business
SUITABLE FOR: People with an undergraduate business degree who wish to undertake further study and applied research at more advanced level in their chosen field of business.
QUALIFICATION: MBus

FORMAT: Full-time or part-time on campus study for the first half, then Thesis or Dissertation for the second half. Supported by on-line learning.
DESCRIPTION: 2 year full-time or 3 to 4 years part-time postgraduate programme, which develops critical and reflective graduates with strong applied research capability.
This is grounded in thorough understanding of specialist field relevant to their professional needs. The MBus is offered in the fields of Marketing, Management, Tourism, International Business and Information Technology.
Postgraduate Certificate and Diploma in Business
SUITABLE FOR: People with similar background to the MBus, who wish to study at postgraduate level but are unable to commit to the full length of time required to complete the MBus.

DESCRIPTION: 1 year full-time or 2 year part-time programme enabling students to complete postgraduate certificate qualification, then take break before continuing on to the diploma programme at later date.
It develops students with advanced knowledge, research and critical and reflective capabilities relevant to their chosen field of business practice.
Graduate Certificate and Diploma in Business
SUITABLE FOR: People with several years professional business experience or an undergraduate degree in any discipline.

DESCRIPTION: focused 2 year part-time qualification for specialist knowledge in any of the following subjects:
l Taxation & Accounting Information Systems, Information Technology, Finance, Advertising, International Business, Human Resources Management, Small Business Management & Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Tourism, Commercial Law, Business Economics and eBusiness.

SUITABLE FOR: School leavers with B Bursary or mature students with relevant work experience.

DESCRIPTION: three year full-time degree course with options to do double major or an extra 1 year Honours programme. Co-operative education – 13 week industry placement is compulsory.
The emphasis is on gaining broad advanced business knowledge and developing advanced business knowledge capabilities in one or two specialist disciplines.

SUITABLE FOR: School leavers with 18 or less in Sixth Form Certificate or mature students.

DESCRIPTION: 2 year full-time nationally recognised Diploma. Provides broad business knowledge as well as expertise in specialist discipline. Recognised by New Zealand Institute of Management, Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand, Banker’s Institute, New Zealand Institute of Travel & Tourism.
Short Courses
SUITABLE FOR: Any busy business professional wishing to up-skill in specialist area to increase their job performance.

FORMAT: Short course on-campus or off campus for larger corporate groups.
DESCRIPTION: wide range of course options including:
l Human resources performance, project management, mediation, negotiation, interviewing and sales skills, writing marketing plan, modelling databases, tailor made budgeting, supervisory skills for first level managers, management workshops and computer business applications courses.

SUITABLE FOR: Managers with several years working experience and at least 27 years of age. MBA applicants must have first degrees.

Professional Masters Programme
Organisation Statement
The Professional Masters Programme at Lincoln University offers high-level postgraduate qualification designed for the professional development of managers in the workplace.
Comprising the degrees of Master of Professional Studies and Master of Property Studies, the programme has an industry-specific focus and enables managers who aspire to senior positions to build on their existing managerial skills and industry knowledge.

Suitable for: Designed for managers wishing to undertake further tertiary study who may not be able to commit either to full-time enrolment or to an on-campus lecture schedule. Available to people with existing industry knowledge and an undergraduate degree or other appropriate academic background and relevant experience. This would normally be at least two years in decision-making role but each application will be subject to individual approval.
