A sign of harder IT times is that skills in information and communication technology have fallen off the Australian government’s most wanted list for potential migrants.
Apparently research by the Employment Minister Kevin Andrews’ department found that employment in IT had been affected by the global downturn and there’s no longer shortage of people with those skills.
In fact some Australian computer professionals are having trouble finding work.
That prompted revision of the Migration Occupation in Demands List used to weight residency applications from would-be migrants.
