From balance sheets to board behaviour and brand messages – the emphasis on the benefits of triple bottom line reporting has undergone shift.
That’s the thesis being explored at the annual sustainability conference being held this month (March 31) at Auckland’s Stamford Plaza. Some big names are on the speakers’ agenda including the former chair of Royal Dutch Shell, Sir Mark Moody-Stuart, UK author John Elkington and director of corporate governance for Ford Motors, Deborah Zemke.
The big challenge of the next decade for both private and public sector organisations will extend beyond better reporting and better governance, according to the NZ Council for Sustainable Development.
“[It will have] more to do with how to use and change market mechanisms to define, develop and deliver sustainable business solutions.”
