Can’t find skilled labour in New Zealand? Try Germany.
While this country is scratching for construction, engineering, manufacturing and technical workers, Germany apparently has them to spare. Which is why the Federal Germany Agency (FGA) is now offering to help New Zealand employers recruit German workers.
There are plenty who want the challenge of working offshore, the agency says, though New Zealand placements are unlikely to sop up much of Germany’s pool of unemployed – now around the 4.3 million mark.
With 800 offices in Germany, plus website and links to employment databases throughout the EU, the FGA has an extensive database, will check applicants’ language ability – and claims to cost half what local recruitment agencies charge.
