New appointment to Christchurch Airport board

Christchurch Airport has announced the appointment of Meg Matthews to its board of directors.

The airport says Matthews brings more than 20 years of senior management experience across key business areas, including finance, human resource management, strategic planning and marketing.

A qualified accountant, Matthews has held leadership roles including head of marketing (Australasia) for Air New Zealand and chief executive of World of WearableArt.

Board chair Sarah Ottrey says, in a statement, that Matthews broad range of strategic experience combined with her leadership in high-profile organisations will bring a fresh perspective to the board.

“Her unique blend of skills and her understanding of the New Zealand business landscape will be invaluable as we expand our business and make the most of the opportunities ahead.”

It’s a fantastic opportunity to be part of the airport’s growth and its role in connecting people and championing Te Waipounamu,” she says.
