Embracing the future of work – HR Changemakers Festival 2024

Employers and HR professionals grappling with how to attract, retain and engage their people during times of economic uncertainty are being invited to learn from a top Kiwi entrepreneur and recruitment technology business owner, Anna Mowbray.

As the founder of ZEIL, a Gen Z-friendly app pitched as the “Tinder for recruitment,” Mowbray is a keynote speaker at the HR Changemakers Festival 2024, presented by Love HR and HealthNow, which will be held in Auckland from 23-24 October.

The festival, in its second year, is designed to help employers embrace the future of work so they can attract and retain talent, noting that today’s workforce has different needs and expectations around mahi and the employee experience.

A statement from the organisers says Mowbray will share her experience on what it takes to build a great business based on her success launching ZURU toys, with her two brothers, through to launching ZEIL in 2022, a data-driven job marketplace which connects job seekers and employers using a ‘swipe right to apply’ method.

The HR Changemakers Festival 2024 speakers also include EX specialist Samantha Gadd, the founder and CEO of Excellent and Humankind. Gadd will speak about designing the future of work and the need to change operating models for people and organisations to thrive.

Love HR’s Stephanie Love says the world is changing and so is work.

“Organisations need to keep up with the changing needs of people, including flexible working, diversity and inclusion, neurodiversity, the ageing workforce and how to balance people’s expectations with the ability of a business to deliver.”

Fifteen speakers will be involved in the two-day festival, including HRHQ founder Lisa Young. Her presentation ‘Convincing the C-Suite: crafting the case for change’ will offer practical tips on how to get business leaders on board.
