It not only creates health food products from honeybee raw materials but is taking lead on environmental health by applying systematic and cost effective approach to addressing sustainability. For this effort, Comvita picked up both the Trailblazer (sponsored by IAG) and the People’s Choice (Westpac) awards at the recent Westpac National Sustainable Business Awards.
Other winners were: Fonterra Tirau for developing treatment process that results in cleaner wastewater; web designer absolutely.co.nz for making sustainability integral to its entire business; and Hamilton YWCA which has significantly reduced its environmental footprint.
