selves into their minimalist shapes, they are going back to buying produce not time. That amounts to taking the price tag off time. Instead of employing their lawyer they now buy his or her services for fee. The fee will include time element but it will also include charge for quality, reputation and reliability.
Professionals and knowledge workers are obvious candidates to become “portfolio workers”. So are those who make or fix things, the traditional fixers and makers like plumbers and builders but now also the new fixers; the agents, brokers, conference organisers, house finders and sellers, cooks, drivers, health specialists, child and house and dog minders.
