EDITOR’S LETTER : More Than Before

Welcome to the new-look Management magazine. Over the past few months we have been scrutinising each and every section of the magazine with view to providing new offering for our readers and advertisers. Management has always taken pride in being an intelligent read. That’s not changing. We have over 50 years of heritage at stake and know what our readers want. So the revitalised magazine continues to sit squarely in the same editorial space that it has always occupied. We will continue to tackle critical leadership, management and economic issues, profile successful local and global thought leaders, and provide best practice advice on every aspect of career development and organisational leadership.
But Management readers can now expect an additional dimension. From this issue, expect to get more practical value from your reading. Readers told us they wanted more useful information to help them handle the rapid changes in their daily lives as managers and leaders. So for example, wherever practical, InTouch – our revitalised news section at the front of the magazine – includes contact details of the people interviewed or the organisations mentioned. We’re highlighting upcoming conferences and courses that we believe will offer particular value to local managers and we’re helping readers make their own connections via our magazine.
Look out, too, for our new PrintPlus logo alongside three or four articles in each issue of the magazine. These articles have been selected for additional coverage on our website. Depending on the topic, this added-value material may include shortlist of top books on the subject for readers who want to dig more deeply; relevant courses (by NZIM and others); links to useful websites, upcoming seminars, conferences or meetings; or access to packages of articles on related topics.
Hand in hand with these improvements is complete overhaul of Management’s website www.management.co.nz. The new format helps readers easily tap into the past year’s worth of coverage of management topics at the click of button.Subscribers can also access the current issue of the magazine via our website. And our archive search helps you personalise your search for articles dating back to 2000. You’ll find it much easier to navigate your way around it too. Watch out for more useful stuff and chances to have your say as the website develops further in the future.
It’s all about providing information, insights and connections for our community of management thinkers and practitioners. Let me know what you think: [email protected].
