Experts from Microsoft and EA (a leading developer of online games) and The Warehouse will be in Auckland in March advising businesses how to retain their best staff during recession.
The Australasian Talent Conference will demonstrate to businesses how and why they must retain and recruit talent during tough times. With central theme of “Impact of Talent: Getting the Best Out of Tough Times”, the conference will outline how and why businesses need to move from thinking about staff to focusing on talent.
Jeff Hunter, senior director of EA University, tells how businesses can rethink recruiting, learning and development, talent planning and technology to create better, more comprehensive talent-focused organisation. He will speak about engaging employees, training to transform your workforce and aligning business and talent strategies to make the moves possible.
Heather Hamilton is the recruitment manager for Microsoft Corporation. She will speak on bringing your employer brand to life through blogs. Microsoft allows employees to publish their unfiltered views on life at Microsoft and the work they do. Hamilton will discuss the place of blogging among Microsoft’s 70,000 employees, blogging as branding initiative, lessons learnt and tips for success.
New Zealand’s Jane Davis, head of talent management at The Warehouse, will outline how to identify, develop and retain high-potential staff in difficult climate. Two years ago, The Warehouse began to put significant focus on identifying and growing internal leaders to overcome the shortage of quality talent available in the external market.
