Hewlett-Packard is rolling out more than 14 new digital printing and imaging products, to cater for the increasing popularity of digital photography.

IDC predicts that by 2005, more than 15 billion digital images will be printed in the US, and more than one-third of US households will own digital cameras.

HP began its launch last month with the release of five new printers – the DeskJet 5550, 3820, and 3420 colour inkjets, and the Photosmart 130 and 7150 colour printers. HP is expecting the Photosmart 130, portable photo printer, to be snapped up by consumers. It prints 4×6 photos direct from all popular digital cameras. Combined with HP’s new Colourfast Photo Paper, the Photosmart 130 can produce images that rival the quality of traditional photographs.
