Geoff Vazey, Wes Bernard
Christchurch City Holdings has appointed two new directors to two of its subsidiary companies. Vazey, currently professional director, brings commercial and governance experience to the board of Orion NZ. Bernard, currently the chief technology officer of SunGard AvantGard and managing director of SunGard Systems NZ, joins the board of Christchurch City Networks, the relatively new broadband network company company owned by CCHL.

Drew Gilpin
Leadership in general management and sales, combined with his extensive experience in product development and technology marketing, see Gilpin appointed as general manager of the newly formed sales and marketing team at Kordia. Most recently joint managing director of Integral Technology Group, he has also had roles with CLEAR Communications, Advantage Group, Terabyte Interactive and Apple Computer.

Ian Smedley
Joining Public Trust as national manager, business services based in Auckland, Smedley brings over 17 years’ experience in the trustee services industry to the role, the last two as national manager, client relationships for major trustee company.

Brent Miller
Hay Group in New Zealand has appointed Miller as senior consultant to its Pacific consulting team. He will be based in Auckland and rejoins Hay Group having recently spent time in San Francisco with Watson Wyatt where he was involved in reward and benefits consulting with many US multinationals.

Hugh Martyn
HR and payroll software design and services company PayGlobal has appointed Martyn as its CEO. His past experience in senior management roles includes group general manager rural services for PGG Wrightson, CEO of Pyne Gould Guinness, managing director of Invacare Corporation (Australasia) and CEO of Dynamic Controls.

Mike Larmer
Mercury Energy has appointed Larmer to lead the development and management of its customer facing sales and marketing channels. Most recently managing director of Auckland direct marketing agency TEQUILA, Larmer immigrated to New Zealand with his family three years from London where he was managing director of WWAV Rapp Collins.

Keith Reynolds
New Zealand’s largest employee-owned consultancy, Beca, has appointed Reynolds as its new Group CEO. civil engineer by training, he has managed large engineering and design consultancies across the Pacific region. He is due to take up the position in September, when chairman Bob Durrant steps down and current Group CEO Richard Aitken moves into that role.

David Whyte
Well known in the financial advisory area for his central role in the growth of Sovereign Assurance and AIA (now AIG), Whyte has been appointed to the board of NZ life and investments company Fidelity Life Assurance. He has extensive transTasman governance experience and is currently on the board of the Pacific Insurance Conference.

Tom Sturgess
The board of New Zealand King Salmon has announced the appointment of Sturgess as an independent director and chair of the company. well known Nelson businessman, Sturgess manages wide portfolio of New Zealand investments including substantial pastoral holdings, the Tiri Group, and is deputy chair of Blue Star Print Group.

William Gurry
Rabobank Australia & New Zealand has announced the appointment of Gurry, highly respected business leader and experienced company director, as chairman of its board of directors. He replaces outgoing chairman James Graham, who has served in this role since November 2002 and has been board member since May 2001.

Murray Denyer
Previously general manager corporate services and general counsel with Zespri, Denyer has joined law firm Cooney Lees Morgan as consultant with the commercial team.

Neil Radley
