Mears set up his medical device technology company, Device Technologies, in April this year.
He employs eight staff to serve customers all over New Zealand and is associated with companies worldwide. His local and overseas travel commitments are high and his priority is good service, with price secondary consideration.
He wanted travel provider that he could be sure would work on his behalf to obtain good fare and recommend flights timed for prompt attendance at meetings and functions. “We don’t have time to ring around and find the best price,” he says. Mears chose Flight Centre’s Corporate Traveller Central office in Auckland because they go out of their way to help and provide great service.
He uses Avis Rent-a-Car in New Zealand and overseas and is impressed with the speed with which they set up Preferred Rental Agreement for all his staff and the service given by their representative.
When he needs taxi for an early flight, he always rings Corporate Cabs because he knows that the driver will arrive on time in clean and tidy cab and help with his luggage.
Qantas is his preferred airline for its speed in processing travellers and their luggage. And he loves computer air ticketing which enables him to check in quickly.
At hotels, after warm bed and shower he wants to be able to access the Internet at his desk and not at the other side of the room. After hours room service is another must.
