Statistics NZ is apparently doing its bit to reduce the compliance burden on businesses. Some of the reductions trumpeted by Minister for Small Business John Tamihere included changes to the Retail Trade Survey, greater use of tax data both to maintain the Statistics NZ Business Frame and lessen the number of respondents for its Wholesale Trade Survey and Quarterly Survey of Business Manufacturing.
SNZ is also working with business to simplify survey design and ensure the information it gathers is more relevant to business and easier to access.
