Craig Richardson
The board of Jade Software Corporation (Jade) has announced the appointment of Richardson as its next chief executive. He succeeds Dr Rod Carr who was appointed to the position of vice-chancellor at the University of Canterbury late last year. Richardson is currently the chief financial officer of Coca-Cola Amatil for New Zealand and Fiji. He will join Jade late March.

Matthew Goldsack, Helen Wang, Matt Goodson
BT Funds Management has expanded its investment team with three new appointments. Goldsack, previously head of research for Arcus Investment Management, is the new head of investment strategies; Wang, previously with Westpac, has been appointed research analyst; and, Goodson has been appointed senior equity analyst/portfolio manager. He was most recently director, wholesale equities with First NZ Capital.

Jonathan Mason
Fonterra has appointed new chief financial officer to succeed Guy Cowan who announced his retirement early last year. Mason, former Carter Holt Harvey, moves to the dairy giant from US chemicals company Cabot Corporation where he has been vice-president and chief financial officer since 2006.

Craig Herbison
Telecom Retail has new marketing head. Herbison, who was formerly Vodafone’s regional GM of brand and communications covering Australia and New Zealand, is also former executive director of STW Group Sydney. He joins Telecom at the start of April.

John Chang
This year’s appointment of Chang to head the operations of Development West Coast, follows that of Greymouth businessman Tony Williams late in 2008 as its chairman. Chang led Canterprise, the University of Canterbury’s commercialisation company, from 2004-08 before establishing Jardoo Investments early last year.

Paul Butler
ING New Zealand has appointed Butler to the newly-created role of managing director – funds management where he will oversee the continued growth and development of all aspects of the company’s funds management business. He was previously the company’s chief financial officer.

Jim Quinn
Quinn is to take up an appointment as the CEO of KiwiRail Group effective February 28. He is currently the chief executive of Express Couriers, the joint venture NZ Post has with DHL. He has also held senior roles at NZ Post.

Paula Ross
A strong background in sales, marketing and hospitality has seen Ross secure her new role as Vector Arena’s business development manager. She was most recently coach hostess for Lenovo, major sponsors at the Beijing Olympics.

Maria Tyrrell
Focus Research and its international operation NeedScope International have new managing director, having promoted Tyrrell, who has worked for the company since its inception in 1994 and been part of the management team for the past eight years.

Murray Harris
Financial planning firm Spicers Portfolio Management has appointed Harris as national investment manager. He was previously director of business development and relationship management at Goldman Sachs JBWere Asset Management.

Rob MacLean
Effective April 25, MacLean takes over from Steve Hall as school director at The Outward Bound Trust of New Zealand. MacLean, who has over 11 years’ experience in outdoor education, is currently programme director for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), which he co-founded in 2003.

Dianne McAteer
McAteer is the new chief executive of business-to-business office product suppliers Office Products Depot (OPD). Past experience includes senior marketing and general management roles at Cadbury, Sealord and the House of Travel Group and five years as general manager of Visique Optometrists.

Frank Owen
Currently chief executive officer of electronic manufacturing services company GPC Electronics New Zealand, Owen takes over as Tait Electronics new managing director in March. He replaces Michael Chick who is retiring after 17 years at the company, including seven as the Group’s managing director.

Rachel Hopkins
Business growth centre The ICEHOUSE has appointed Hopkins as chief marketing officer. Along with owning her own professional services marketing business in Sydney, Hopkins has held senior marketing positions at Clifford Chance London and Minter Ellison Rudd Watts in New Zealand.

Mark Brunton
Repco New Zealand has appointed Brunton as general manager. chartered accountant, he has more than 18 years’ experience in senior management roles including general manager of Pepsi-Cola Bottlers NZ, managing director Lion Nathan Wines and Spirits and managing director of Bluebird Foods.

David Green, Graham Turley
ANZ National has announced the appointments of Green and Turley to replace Nigel Williams who held the role of managing director, institutional and commercial. Green, who previously led the team responsible for ANZ’s institutional client relationships, takes over as managing director – institutional, and Green, previously leader of the corporate finance team in New Zealand, is promoted to managing director – commercial.
