The latest American Express survey shows that airfares continue to rise across all types of fares.
Discount economy fares were up more than 10 percent for the whole of 2000, and the survey shows that Kiwi air travellers had the biggest rise of any country in the Asia-Pacific region.
As well as rising discount fares, full economy fares rose 10.8 percent for the year while business class fares rose 8.6 percent for the year.
The only bright spot for some, was the decrease in first class fares by one percent in the latest quarter, with l.6 percent rise for the year.
The American Express Asia Pacific Airfare Index surveys 947 published airfares across 165 city-pairs in Asia Pacific, every quarter.
